Snowshoeing in Svaneti is lots of fun: a great variety of scenery, panoramas and culture heritage sites that add exciting highlights to the trails. Our snowshoeing package includes one-day radial tours (with Mestia as permanent base) in different areas of Svaneti. You will visit the ancient settlements that are still inhabited by descendants of the medieval tower-builders, discover tiny mountain churches with beautiful frescoes, enjoy the unique wide panoramas of the Great Caucasus with the soaring summits ever so close, and go where no one else goes in the winter time. The trails are not difficult technically, so even a beginner with no experience will be able to do them. All you need is to be reasonably fit to do the vertical meters that are required on some of the itineraries. The most demanding tours gain about 800 vertical meters. We kept the schedule flexible for the best possible experience. This allows the guide and the group decide onsite which order to do the tours in, based on the actual weather forecast and the group’s capacity.

The standard 6-day snowshoeing tour includes all you need for a great snowshoeing experience in Svaneti. Package prices include 6 days of snowshoeing (including guiding, ski passes and transport), accommodation and half-board in Mestia, snowshoe rental and airport transfers. We do not include insurance and flights.

Standard accommodation is a family-run guest house in the centre of Mestia, offering double rooms with private bathrooms, free wifi, central heating and home-made meals. We believe that this standard is the best combination of comfort and personalized guest-care. If you wish to stay in a higher standard hotel, we will be happy to adjust the package, based on availability of rooms in Mestia’s international standard hotel.
